Your Grey, Your Way

This International Women's Day, we're celebrating those who defy black-and-white expectations and thrive in their own shade of grey.

The collaborators from our 'In Her Element' series perfectly capture this spirit – explore the inspiring journeys of the 5 tastemakers and get their look while you’re at it.

Photographer, DJ & Music Producer

Anushka Menon

Over a career spanning 20 years, this multi-hyphenate has shot for the likes of Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Rolex, played at Boiler Room India and Magnetic Fields, breaking new ground as one of the first female fashion photographers in India.

“My hustler spirit and having an outsider’s perspective helped me carve out my own niche. Belonging to the worlds of both photography and music allows me to bring a multidisciplinary approach to my work.”

Wellness Events Curator & Entrepreneur

Alekha Advani

Turning her personal wellness practice into her life’s passion, Alekha founded Way Well – a platform for immersive wellness experiences, where she curates conscious living workshops and festivals.

“True wellness is a shared journey, and my hospitality background also helps me understand what people truly need. As Indians, embracing these age-old traditions to grow and heal together feels like a homecoming.”

Co-founders of Vanilla Miel, an artisanal pâtisserie

Isha & Mansi Shetty

Isha, Head Chef, honed her skills in prestigious pastry kitchens across France, Switzerland and Australia, while Mansi, Business Head, is a lawyer by training. After many years of individual success, the sisters united over their shared love for art and food to start Vanilla Miel.

“As entrepreneurs, we’re juggling so many hats – one minute we’re content creators, next we’re firefighting in the kitchen, and then talking to customers. It took us a while to figure out the balance but now we know what each [one of us sisters] is good at and we let them take the lead on that.”

Founder & Creative Director of Bombay Lettering Company

Sanjana Chatlani

What started as a passion for calligraphy at Sanjana’s corporate job turned into an all-women award-winning design studio offering luxe stationery and bespoke invites to live on-site calligraphy – making her clients’ special moments even more memorable.

“Initially, I had no goals of building something bigger than myself. It was always one step at a time and I was really enjoying being an artist. But the marketeer in me had the drive to scale up with a proper team, and that was the choice I made – there’s no right or wrong way.”
